Having been to Fiji a number
of times before I’ve finally found the resort I’ll be coming
back to year after year. The staff here are exceptional and great care
has been taken too employ the right mix of experienced professional and
local villages.
The food is the BEST I’ve ever tasted in Fiji – it surpasses
some of the 5 Star hotels on Denerau Island – no Fiji belly here!
The head chef is brilliant – the food cooked to order and presented
and served in fine dining style with great prices. The chef is Australian
therefore he cooks local produce to western standards. The wait staff
are also attentive, friendly and always on the ball.

The infinity pool (main pool) complete with a very
cool waterslide which give you a breathtaking view of the island if
you’re too lazy to snorkel or dive. My partner and I are 35
& 31 respectively and can honestly say that the pool is perfect
for big and small kids of all ages! The adult’s pool will only
be opening in 2 weeks they tell us so we’ve seen it and it’s
also heavenly! |
The rooms – WOW! Hardwood floor are in all the rooms from the lowest
to highest price point, we stayed in the Loloma Suite which is stunning
but have seen all the other bures and whatever your budget the rooms are
all the same standard just bigger or smaller or family orientated or fitted
out for honeymooners! All are air-conditioned which is so hard to find
in Fiji. Great care has been taken to appoint the rooms with the fine
furnishings in both a contemporary and traditional style. The rooms are
delight to return to after a hard day of doing nothing but soaking up
another day in paradise!
Finally, the ambience in this place is what sets it apart from all the
rest. The main building is where this is most obvious. If you hadn’t
just stepped off a plane or boat you’d think you were in one of
Sydney’s most upmarket yet chill out cocktail lounges/restaurant!
The music is great the décor a stunning mix of soft white walls,
traditional Fijian artefacts and comfy armchairs where you can sit for
hours overlooking the gorgeous beach and reef – a place that makes
you think you’re got to buy an island of your own someday.
And that’s it – we’ll be back in 12 months for another
week or two if not before – Amunuca keep the champagne in ice for
us and we’ll let you know when we’re coming!
Thanks for a PERFECT holiday!

The only thing that can spoil your day at Amunuca is finding out you
have to leave the island early. As soon as you arrive, and for every moment
thereafter, the staff have been standing on the beach waiting for you
since the day you made the booking.
The design, service, food, facilities and ambience are second only to
the magnificent views that surround you. Amunuca really will become that
‘happy place’ in your mind you take yourself when life gets
a bit stressful back home.
I can’t wait to come back!

Will recommend to friends and family.
Thanks for everything.

We had a great time and expect all the good things in our holidays, to
relax and rejuvenate ourselves. But most of all we learn how value our
life more. And of course thank you to all the staff especially Kader,
Susanne, Chris, Julie and Kini for welcoming us like a family. Mai and
I felt all our concerns and care towards us.
With love

Whether it be the snorkelling amongst the magnificent Fiji coral or tasting
the very different drink that is Kava with the village people, or whether
it be downing a cocktail or a Fiji Bitters in the bar at the pool, you
can be rest assured that Amunuca is the place to be.
You know that magnificent paradise holidays on the TV travel shows?? This
is it but better!
I am so happy Megan from Pacific Island Escapes recommended Amunuca.
And best of all the staff are sensational!
Chris – Australia
Within a few days of arriving at Amunuca, I have decided that this is
one of those rare and special places worthy of a repeat visit.
For starters the staff are outstanding. Whilst Fijians in general are
known for their warm and friendly nature, the staff here share a wide
eyed enthusiasm and sincere willingness to please (to the point of indulging
in my 11.30pm craving for chocolate cake)! Reflecting staff which are
obviously well looked after and truly happy to be here. It would be unfair
to single out any one person as all the staff I’ve met have left
fond and lingering impressions yet it is impossible to refer to Amunuca
as staff.
The main pavilion building extends a happy laid-back vibe against the
backdrop of Buddha Bar’s chill out music which creates a space that
is calm and welcoming, chic and understated all at once. Add into this
the mix the biggest ‘Bula!’ smiles you’re ever seen
and it would be difficult not to feel immediately at home here.
The food echoes Amunuca’s approach to everything else, fresh, clean
and inviting. Freshly squeezed juice, home made bread baked daily, freshly
caught grilled reef fish and desserts that are just plain irresistible!
My greatest surprise at Amunuca has been in meeting and learning from
a naturopath/nutritionalist/iridologist as exceptionally well qualified
as Julie at the Bamboo Spa. A consult with Julie is a must!
In sum, I’m in love with this place! Amunuca really got it right
and it’s just going to get better and better. There is no doubt
that in a very short while the majority of Amunuca’s guests will
be repeat visitors.
